Fairmont Queen Elizabeth

Mural created for the Queen Elizabeth hotel in Montreal. This hotel is a major historic landmark in 2017. The mural I created was intended to be the main focus when arriving at the lobby. It had to bridge the path between the past and future. Inspired by the Post-dogmatism, typography was used as a mean of abstract expression. A lot of work was put on the tridimensionnel aspect with different planes that brings dynamism to the piece. The background is made of wood and the letters are metal. Everything was planned to be laser cut and installed onsite. This project was realized with the help of Sidlee Architecture and MassivArt.
